The Jitterbug is back for one final party before the summer break. Speakeasy Leeds resident DJ and circus performer Razzmatazz will treat us to the newest in Electro Swing. n order to meet your dancing needs we will once again be providing a FREE dance class at 9pm. Although not compulsory, dressing up is strongly encouraged for the evening as we will be transforming Spanky van Dykes into a 1920’s Speakeasy.

Cantaloupe are a synth-guitar/bass-drums trio from Nottingham, UK. Drawing influences from afro-pop to krautrock to the avant garde, Cantaloupe make lush and infectious instrumental pop music.

Azores occupy a unique space somewhere between afrobeat, psyche rock and post-punk, with influences ranging from the No Wave movement pioneered in New York during the 1980s by bands such as Liquid Liquid, James Chance and The Dance, to 1990s US bands Heroic Doses and Golden, Afrobeat players such as Ebo Taylor, Victor Uwaifo and Fela Kuti and Sublime Frequencies bands such as Group Inerane.

Nordenfelt are Tom (vocals, guitar), Ali (guitar), Ed (bass) and Owen (drums, producer). Nordenfelt are influenced by Sunn 0))), NWA, and Squarepusher, yet they still end up sounding like Elliott Smith.

Forever Sound is cyclical music: melodies and rhythms appear as if in orbit, each a pendulum ticking to its own metre. A slow wave on a boundless sea. The deepest, coldest Chicago house meets the fizziest, most playful krautrock.

Hailing from Memphis, USA he’s been aptly named “the Beale Street Blues Bopper” for good reason, having played alongside many a blues legend stateside. In 2010 both Victor & his mentor Louisiana Red stole the American Blues Awards with their multi-award winning album ‘Back to the Black Bayou’ . Big Joe Louis can also be credited as being amongst, if not ‘the’ most celebrated UK bluesman of recent times. Don‘t miss this incredible show!

To celebrate 50 years of Jamaican independence, TakeOver in association with Good Times and Kemet FM are proud to present TIPPA IRIE: the UK reggae legend from Saxon Studio International live in Nottingham.

We are honoured to have Tippa in Notts, and will be putting on a show worthy of the occasion. Expect the best in reggae revival and dancehall from TakeOver Soundsystem alongside DJ Addiktz. Kemet FM’s Masta G and DJ Prince aka The Good Times Selective (famous for their annual boat party on the river) will be warming up the crowd in fine style. All coming through a bass-heavy state of the art Funktion One sound system.
